|logging software for any platform at no cost|
jLog is written in Java and needs a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run both the installer and the application. JREs are available for all major platforms, either as an integrated part or as an installable option.
Download Java Runtime Environment
Please select the installer page for your platform:
Download RXTXjLog V 4.x and jLov V5 for Linux/Unix communicate with serial devices through the RXTX library.
RXTX must be installed after having installed the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and before installing the jLog application.
Download the jLog Application
Although the jLog application is the same for any platform, separate installers are available for each platform to simplify the installation task. The optional serial port used for CAT control and keyer control require platform specific drivers.
Before installing the jLog Application, please install the Java Runtime Environment.
Then, please select the installer page for your platform:
After initial installation, please install any application updates. You may use the built-in Check-for-Updates command or enable automatic execution of the command. Alternatively, update manually.
Regularly checks for updates ensures that jLog is kept error-free.
Please remember to regularly install Java updates, too.
Then, read about memory requirements as a function of the maximum capacity before registering jLog.
